Understanding The Times

Faith in a Modern World

Just as the Sons of Issachar understood the times that they lived in, so that Israel would know what to do, so too, we as Disciples of Jesus Christ are called to understand the times that we are living in, so that the Church will know what to do and yes, I believe that we are living in the “last days” and we are called to eagerly await the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, but until that day comes, we are called to represent God in this generation by showing the love, mercy, and grace of God and reach out to others with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

During our Bible Prophecy Seminars, we share what the scripture states about the “Last Days and then look at what is happening in the world today, to understand what the Churches response should be to those events.

I believe that God wants to make such a Distinction between His Bride, the Church, just as He did between the children of Israel and the Egyptians at the time of the Exodus, that when the Church is taken out of the world, at the great Catching Away of the Church, the world will be without excuse. Remember, Jesus is coming back for His bride, the Glorious Church,

Central to my believe about the Distinction is found in the Book of Ephesians where the Apostle Paul compares the husband-and-wife relationship to that of the relationship between Jesus Christ and His bride, the Church. “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23) For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24) Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25) Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26) that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27) that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28) So, husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29) For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30) For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31) “For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32) This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.” (Ephesians 5:22-32 NKJV)
